President Muhammadu Buhari met with the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu on Monday the 1st of October 2018 behind closed doors.

The crucial meeting which had governor Ambode in absence took place at the Presidential villa, Abuja, came barely 24hours before the APC Lagos governorship primary scheduled for Tuesday the 2nd of October 2018.

According to an anonymous source who confirmed the meeting to Punch correspondent says”There was a meeting. But I don’t know what the meeting was about”. It was earlier reported that Tinubu and other All Progress Congress (APC) stakeholders in the state had endorsed Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the party flag bearer despite the incumbent governor, Akinwumi Ambode seeking for a rerun. Tinubu and the state stakeholders claims that governor Ambode had failed to follow the blueprint of the state.

Another anonymous source when asked if the aim of the crucial meeting between Pres. Buhari and Tinubu was to resolve the matter between Ambode and Tinubu said”you know that Asiwaju meets regularly with the President. They discuss party and the nation’s matter regularly. So there is nothing unusual about this meeting. What issue will be resolved when tomorrow(Tuesday) is the primary? There is nothing to resolve”.
