The Nose piercing or nose ringing is the piercing of the skin or cartilage which forms any part of the nose, it is mostly done for the purpose of wearing jewelry called a nose jewel or nose ring.
Nose piercing or nose ringing is therefore an ancient civilization that is as old as man. The concept could be traced back to the Bible in old testament 2kings and in Isaiah, where God used the nose ring as a metaphor in pledging to discipline Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, for “ragging against” him around 700BC. It reads: “I will put my hook in thy nose… and I will turn thee back”.
This same principle of ringing the nose began to be applied by the ancient Egyptians as a means to control their animal’s aggresive behaviours such as their bulls and cattles. These rings helps the animals to learn that “if it hurts when you do that, don’t do it”. The practice has spread in Europe and other parts of the world.

The Indian culture was the first to endorse the nose piercing as a cultural and fashion piece, followed by the Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Philippines and throughout South and southeast Asia. In the Indian tradition, nose piercing were normally done by women only. However, in our contemporary fashion world of today, the nose piercing has spread to the wider world as it has resulted to both men, women, entertainers and all round celebrities have been seen having nostril piercing.
There are several types of nostril rings, which are- the loop, the stud with an L-bar closure, the stud with a ball closure and the stud with a flat backing. 
Nose ringing is an outstanding fashion piece among fashion lovers of today, ring up your nose and catch up with the trend.
