France beats Croatia to become New World Champions after 20 years

The FIFA 2018 world cup final between Croatia and France held football lovers all over the world in high spirit as they watched who will be crowned the new world champions. The match was so unpredictable as some fans were rooting for Croatia to win while others were rooting for France to be crowned champions. Croatia which is a strong force to contend with in this year’s FIFA world cup played with their heart and passion to lift the trophy but their efforts were curtailed by France superstars such as Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba and Griezman. France opened the scorer with a free kick that was deflected into the goal off the forehead of Mandzukic which resulted to an own goal. Croatia on the other hand leveled it up with a powerful strike from Ivan Perisic. Croatia committed a blunder in their penalty box that led to a penalty. Griezman scored the penalty in the 38 minute to give France an edge over Croatia. The first half ended 2 goals to 1 in favour of France.
The second half kick started with Pogba and Mbappe scoring 1 goal each which they used to sink the Croatian side. Croatia managed to get a consolation with a strike from Mandzukic in the 69th minute after much efforts. The match ended 4 -2 making France the new world champions after 20years.

Watch How Bold Kolasinac Saved Arsenal Team-mate Mesut Ozil From A Car Robbery (Watch Shocking Video)

Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac has been hailed for his heroic act for fighting off two car attackers who tried to carjack Mesut Ozil in north London.

In a video of the attack that has been circulated on social media, the Bosnian defender can be seen jumping out of his teammate’s vehicle to confront their pursuers as the German ran for safety in a nearby resturaunt in Golders Green.

According to the Mail , staff from local establishments responded to the incident to help drive away the attackers.

Kolasinac and Ozil had been driving through north London in the midfielder’s car when the two aggressors chased them down on mopeds.

Both were armed and were filmed brandishing knives at Kolasinac in footage of the attack.

Young Boxer Dies After Sustaining An Injury In A Fight

Young Russian boxer, Maxim Dadashev has died at the tender age of 28 following injuries he sustained in his IBF light-welterweight fight against Subriel Matias.

Dadashev was reportedly unable to walk to the dressing room after his bout was stopped by trainer Buddy McGirt at the end of the 11th round on Friday.

He was hospitalised with bleeding on the brain and underwent emergency surgery but failed to recover.

The Russian Boxing Federation say they have opened an investigation.

Secretary general Umar Kremlev suggested there was “some kind of violation”, adding in a statement: “We lost Maxim Dadashev. He was our young prospect.

“We will fully support his family, including financially. We will complete the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fight, we need to know the truth about what happened.

“This happens in any sport. I think some human factors intervened, there was some kind of violation.”

Gernot Rohr Speaks On Quitting Nigeria For Morocco

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has said he is still under contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), thereby dismissing speculations linking him with Morocco and Gabon.

The Atlas Lions are looking for a new coach, following the exit of Herve Renard, who failed to guide them past the second round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

But Rohr denies he had made contact with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF).

“Though I’ve heard the rumours that Morocco wanted me, the truth is that nobody has contacted me about any job; I also heard that people in Gabon are also thinking about me,” Rohr said in an interview with

“But I cannot even negotiate with another country because I still have a binding contract with Nigeria.

“Of course, it is an honour to be mentioned than for no country to want you at all but I’m still under contract. I still have a one year contract with Nigeria.

“I think everybody saw the good job being done here in Nigeria whereby we came from being number 11 to become number three in Africa.”
